Nice article on Leadership skills and what leaders need to do to inspire their employees. Too many employees are suffering from COVID fatigue and managers need to take into consideration these are special times.
When I was working at a small consulting firm, the number one thing that made me inspired and want to work harder and smarter was being heard by my bosses. I was in a unique situation where I reported directly to the 4 owners of the company and having multiple bosses can be stressful at times. Luckily, my bosses were open to new ideas, they made time to hear my suggestions, let me vent about my frustrations, and praised me often on my successes. People just want to feel like they are doing good and moving forward.
Have you “heard” your employees? Do you give them the time to talk and express their views? I suggest you pick up the phone and spend 5 or 10 minutes hearing how they are doing and what suggestions they might have for improvement at the company. You might be surprised.
